Simon Mateljan is a seasoned design professional with extensive experience in user experience and design management. Currently serving as Design Manager for the a11y Design Team within Atlassian's Design System since October 2022, Simon focuses on creating accessible experiences for users and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. Previously, Simon held the role of Senior Experience Design Manager at RAC WA, where significant contributions were made towards delivering exceptional member experiences. Simon's career also includes leadership positions such as Lead UX/UI Designer at AFG and various roles at other companies, showcasing a consistent trajectory in design leadership and community engagement within the UX field across Australia. Additionally, Simon has been actively involved with Friends of Figma as Community Lead since May 2023 and plays a supportive role on the board for Perth UX Camp. Simon holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Interactive Media Design and Advertising from Edith Cowan University.
