Ashley Burton

Ashley Burton is an accomplished corporate counsel currently serving as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Atmos Energy since September 2018. With expertise in SEC regulations, NYSE compliance, corporate governance, treasury, and executive compensation, Ashley plays a pivotal role in legal matters for the largest fully-regulated natural gas distributor in the United States. Prior to this role, Ashley was Corporate Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Vistra Energy from April 2013 to August 2018, focusing on corporate governance and general corporate law. Additionally, experience as an Associate Attorney at Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP from January 2008 to March 2013 involved advising on a broad range of corporate business issues including mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. Ashley holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from SMU Dedman School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management Information Systems and Finance from Texas McCombs School of Business.
