Richard Thomas

Richard Thomas is the VP & Controller at Atmos Energy. Richard has over fifteen years of experience in auditing and financial management.

Richard started their career at Ernst & Young as an Audit Staff member in 2003. Richard was quickly promoted to Audit Senior in 2005 and then to Senior Manager - Assurance in 2008. In this role, Richard was responsible for leading a team of auditors and executing financial and Sarbanes Oxley audits for clients in various industries.

In 2012, Richard left Ernst & Young to join Tuesday Morning as their Assistant Controller. In this role, they were responsible for planning and executing financial and Sarbanes Oxley audits for clients in various industries, including public utility, oil and gas refiners, retail and consumer projects, telecommunications, airlines, and master limited partnerships.

After a year at Tuesday Morning, Richard joined Atmos Energy as their VP & Controller in 2013. In this role, they are responsible for the overall financial management of the company.

Richard Thomas' educational career includes a Bachelor's in Business Administration Accounting from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Science Finance from Texas A&M University.

Richard Thomas reports to Christopher T. Forsythe, SVP & Chief Financial Officer. Richard Thomas works with Joel Multer - VP, Tax, Daniel M. Meziere - VP, Investor Relations & Treasurer.
