Kayleigh Cassella

Senior Quantum Researcher at Atom Computing

Kayleigh Cassella has a long history of work experience in the field of quantum engineering. Kayleigh began their career in 2010 as a Research Assistant at Indiana University. In 2011, they moved to the University of California, Berkeley and held various roles, including Postdoctoral Researcher, PhD Candidate, Graduate Research Assistant, and Graduate Student Instructor. In 2020, they began working as a Quantum Engineer at Atom Computing. During their postdoctoral research, they led the initial design and construction of an apparatus and laser-system for the initial stage of (Doppler-) cooling. As a Graduate Research Assistant, they developed an atom interferometer with laser-cooled lithium at super-recoil temperatures. As a Graduate Student Instructor, they taught algebra and calculus based introductory physics and graded for the first semester of undergraduate quantum mechanics.

Kayleigh Cassella has a comprehensive educational background. Kayleigh earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Indiana University South Bend in 2011 and a PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018.
