Pieter Kwak

Pieter Bas Kwak is an experienced biotechnology professional currently serving as Director of Biology at Atomwise, where responsibilities include leading AI/ML-driven drug discovery programs. Previously, Pieter held the position of Associate Director at UNITY Biotechnology, leading a team focused on in vitro and translational pre-clinical research to identify novel drug candidates. Prior roles include Senior Scientist and Scientist positions, where expertise in cellular and molecular pharmacology and circadian biology was leveraged for therapeutic development. Pieter's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Medical Genome Sciences from the University of Tokyo and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, with additional degrees in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Nanjing Agricultural University and Wageningen University & Research.
