Bill Lockyer

Bill Lockyer has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Bill began their career in the United States Air Force as a Satellite and Wideband Communications Technician, where they gained expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting communication equipment. Bill then joined the North Carolina Air National Guard, serving as a Network Operations Officer and overseeing a team of 43 personnel.

Lockyer later transitioned to the private sector, working at Intermec Technologies. There, they held various roles including Repair Technician, Customer Support Analyst, and Service Manager. Bill actively contributed to process improvement initiatives and cost savings, implementing lean methodology and creating reporting templates to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

Lockyer then joined CaroMont Health as a Senior Systems Analyst, where they focused on healthcare decision support and reporting. Bill maintained complex MS Access databases, created financial reports, and utilized Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services and Power BI tools for data analysis.

Most recently, Lockyer worked at Atrium Health as a Business Intelligence Lead and later as a Business Intelligence Senior. Bill provided reporting and visualizations using Power BI, SAS, SQL queries, and SAP Business Objects. Notably, they transformed Point of Service Collections reports into self-service Power BI reports, enabling quick analysis and data trending. Bill also automated a Patient Experience report using Power BI, resulting in a significant reduction in results availability.

Throughout their career, Lockyer has demonstrated strong analytical, technical, and leadership skills, contributing to process optimization, cost savings, and improved decision-making in various organizations.

Bill Lockyer earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electronics Engineering Technologies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which they obtained between 2002 and 2005. Prior to that, they completed an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies at Central Piedmont Community College from 2001 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Bill Lockyer holds various certifications, including SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 from SAS, Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 from Lynda.com, Excel Tips Weekly from Lynda.com, Security+ from CompTIA, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate from Microsoft, and several other certificates related to data science and programming obtained from edX.
