Jose Mena

Jose Mena is a nephrologist currently practicing at Nephrology Associates of the Carolinas, P.A. and Atrium Health since August 2023. Prior to these roles, Jose completed a nephrology clinical fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from July 2021 to June 2023. Jose served as Chief Medical Resident and Internal Medicine Resident at Salem Hospital from June 2017 to June 2021, and acted as Facility Study Coordinator for The Chronic Kidney Disease Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study between July 2018 and June 2020. Earlier experience includes serving as General Coordinator for a study on iron deficiency anemia at Universidad Internacional del Ecuador from March 2016 to May 2017, as well as holding the position of Associate Professor at Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social from August 2013 to August 2014. Jose earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Universidad Internacional del Ecuador, graduating in 2014.
