Michael Staples

Michael Staples is an experienced healthcare executive with a strong background in operations and member relations. Currently serving as Assistant Vice President for both Primary Care Internal Medicine and Urgent Care Operations at Atrium Health since March 2018, Michael's expertise includes managing nationwide sales and developing practice-specific strategies at MedAxiom from June 2015 to July 2017. Michael's previous roles include Regional Director at Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, where responsibilities encompassed managing significant operating budgets and overseeing multiple clinical locations, and Director of Adult Cardiology, focused on operational improvements within a large cardiology practice. Michael also held the position of Administrator and Chief Financial Officer at Central Florida Heart Center, overseeing operations and financial strategies for a multi-specialty healthcare group. Michael began a career in healthcare consulting with Premier, Inc., analyzing healthcare data to improve operational efficiency. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management and Risk & Insurance from Appalachian State University.
