Ruben Mesa

Ruben Mesa, MD, currently serves as President of Atrium Health Levine Cancer and Senior Vice President at Atrium Health, along with various leadership roles at Wake Forest School of Medicine and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. With extensive experience in cancer care, Ruben Mesa holds positions such as Vice Dean for Cancer Programs and Executive Director of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center. Prior roles include Executive Director of the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio and Deputy Director at Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, where significant contributions were made to cancer research and education. Ruben Mesa also co-leads Project 4 of the Myeloproliferative Disorders Research Consortium and has held numerous academic positions, including Chair of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Mayo Clinic. Education was completed at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree.
