Marshall Carter

Head Of School at Atrium School

Marshall Carter has extensive experience in education, currently serving as the Head of School at Atrium School since 2017. Previously, Carter held the position of Founding Director of Education at the Museum of World War II from July 2015 to June 2017, and served as K-8 Principal at Milton Academy from 2008 to 2015. Additional roles include Middle School Director at The Rashi School (2005-2008), Middle School Teacher at Shady Hill School (1998-2005), and Education Director at Massachusetts Audubon Society (1997-1998). Early in the career, Carter worked as a Wilderness Instructor with Naturalists At Large (1995), a 6th and 9th grade teacher at Campbell Hall (1992-1995), and a 6th grade intern teacher at Kent Denver School (1991-1992). Carter holds an EdM from Harvard University Graduate School of Education (1996-1997) and a degree from Bowdoin College (1987-1991), alongside participation in wilderness education courses through NOLS in 1989 and 1992.
