Alan Shihadeh

Alan Shihadeh serves as the Dean of the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the American University of Beirut since September 2017, and has been a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the same institution since September 2000. Prior to these roles, Alan Shihadeh was a Visiting Professor at Birzeit University from January 1999 to July 2000 and worked as a Design Engineer at Brown & Root between January 1990 and August 1991. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Science (ScD) in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science (SM) in Technology & Policy / Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where studies were completed from 1994 to 1998 and 1991 to 1994, respectively. Alan Shihadeh also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, earned between 1985 and 1989.
