Emma Burke

Emma Burke currently serves as a Board Member at RiskNZ and as the Chief Risk and Assurance Officer at Auckland Council since July 2022. With a focus on supporting outdoor education through a trustee role at Perry Outdoor Education Trust since April 2017, Emma brings extensive experience in risk management and internal audit from previous positions, including GM Group Assurance and Group Internal Audit Manager at Fletcher Building from July 2017 to July 2022, and Director of Risk Assurance at PwC New Zealand, where Emma established the Waikato Risk Assurance practice. Emma’s career in internal audit began in 2003 at JD Williams, highlighting a strong foundation in audit and assurance gained throughout more than a decade in various managerial roles. Emma holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University, completed in 2003.
