James Aston

James Aston has extensive experience in the maritime sector, currently serving as the Ferry Transition Lead for Decarbonisation at Auckland Transport since January 2019. Prior to this role, James was involved in operations coordination for ferry services and held the position of Marine Manager at McCallum Bros from April 2016 to January 2019. Other notable positions include Master at Explore and Skipper/Engineer for the Rena Salvage project at New Zealand Diving & Salvage Ltd. Additionally, James has served as a Marine Engineer, Service Supervisor, and Sales Manager in various companies including McCallum Bros, Fullers Group Limited, and Telstra. James's educational background includes degrees from NZ Maritime School and certifications from the Maritime Training Academy in the UK, alongside a diploma in travel, tourism, and business studies from Crown Institute of Studies.
