Simon Petersen

Simon Petersen is an experienced communications professional currently serving as a Senior Communications & Engagement Specialist at Auckland Transport since April 2025. Previously, Simon held the role of Communications Manager at Quotable Value Ltd from July 2020 to April 2025, managing media relations and producing key publications such as the monthly House Price Index. Additional experience includes roles at Bank of New Zealand as Social Engagement Lead, where responsibilities included social media management and online reputation monitoring, and at The Warehouse Group as Group Social Media Manager, developing social media strategies and coaching team members. Simon has also worked as a Social Media Manager for The Blues, Digital Content Manager for Bauer Media Group, and held various editorial positions in journalism and content editing. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies & Political Science and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the University of Canterbury.
