James Taylor is an experienced professional in the fields of history and audiovisual archiving. Currently serving as the Online Collections Information and Partnerships Manager at Auckland War Memorial Museum since June 2019, James has previously contributed as a Historian at HistoryWorks and held various roles at Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, including Cataloguing and Research Manager, where responsibilities included managing cataloguing functions and public access to collections. With a strong foundation in research and education, James worked as a Contract Researcher at HistoryWorks and held tutoring and lecturing positions at Victoria University of Wellington. James began a career in the audiovisual sector at TVNZ as a Video Preservation Assistant and holds a Master's degree with Distinction and a First Class Honours Bachelor's degree from Victoria University of Wellington in History and Sociology.
