James Shady has diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. James is currently the Chief Financial Officer at .au Domain Administration Ltd. (auDA), where they serve as the policy authority and industry self-regulatory body for the .au domain space. Prior to this role, they worked as an Interim Finance Professional at auDA.
From 2013 to 2017, James was an Independent Advisor, where they served as Principal, assisting enterprises in improving business performance through analysis of key metrics, development of forecasting models, and determining optimal debt and equity funding. James also provided hands-on business management services on an interim basis.
In 2016, they were engaged by Bolton Clarke to manage the financial integration and operations of RDNS following its merger with RSL Care. The RDNS business had an annual turnover of $190.0 million.
Before their independent advisory work, James held various roles at FAS Global, Ferrier Hodgson, McGrathNicol, KPMG, PwC, and Coopers & Lybrand. Notably, they served as a Partner at Ferrier Hodgson, a Director at McGrathNicol and KPMG, and held directorial roles at PwC and Coopers & Lybrand.
James Shady holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Master of Applied Finance, and is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Insolvency Trustee Professional.
James Shady attended Geelong Grammar School from 1980 to 1985 for their secondary education. James then pursued a Bachelor of Economics degree at Monash University from 1986 to 1989, majoring in Economics and Accounting. Later, from 2000 to 2001, they furthered their studies at the University of Melbourne, earning a Master of Applied Finance degree with a specialization in Finance. James Shady also holds the certification of Register and Official Liquidator from ASIC, obtained in 2009, and they are a CA (Chartered Accountant) from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
