Sankar Thiagasamudram has a long and varied work experience. Sankar began their career as a Software Engineer II at Evans & Sutherland in 2001, where they designed and developed OpenGL and OpenML drivers for RealImage chipsets. In 2003, they moved to DVS Digital Video Inc as a Product Manager for Digital Cinema and Media Products. Here, they led the development of the end-to-end Digital Cinema Pipeline, and was responsible for the product roadmap and features. In 2009, they founded and became the CEO of Audeze, a leader in the high-end headphone space. In 2012, they joined Rohde & Schwarz as a Solutions Architect and Technical Lead, working on establishing a file-based workflow for NBC Universal. In 2019, they became an Advisor for Volumetric Camera Systems Inc. and in 2022, they became an Advisor for The Walnut.ai | Data in a Nutshell. Additionally, since 1999, they have been a volunteer for the Sankara Eye Foundation, USA, a charity that provides free eye surgeries to the visually handicapped poor in developing countries.

Sankar Thiagasamudram obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PSG College of Technology between 1994 and 1999. Sankar then went on to obtain a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern California between 1999 and 2001. Prior to this, Sankar attended Kikani, though no degree or field of study is mentioned.
