Troy Atkinson has a diverse work experience in the software and game development industry. Troy started their career as a Unity Developer at Unsalted in 2017, where they eventually became the Lead Developer for the free-to-play mobile game app 'Sheepshop.' Troy then moved on to Tandem Events, where they served as the Head Conference Associate for the UK's biggest games industry conference. At Animal Puree, Troy co-founded the studio and worked as the Lead Developer, specializing in creating games that push the technical norm. During this time, they developed 'Inkbound,' a tactical RPG game that utilized mobile devices for interaction. Troy also worked as a Back End Developer at Codices, building interactive livestream extensions and tools for clients such as Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, and Jagex. At Troy Makes Games, they worked as a Freelance Software Engineer, developing software for clients in and out of the game industry. Troy contributed to projects for Waving Bear Studio, The MetaMakers Institute, Fictive Studios, Storm Candle Games, and AudioMob. Most recently, Troy joined Audiomob as a Software Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Staff Engineer. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for innovative tech-based solutions.
Troy Atkinson pursued their education in a sequential manner, primarily focusing on game development and entrepreneurship. From 2013 to 2015, they attended City College Plymouth, where they obtained a BTEC Extended Diploma in Games Development. Following this, they enrolled at Falmouth University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Games Development from 2015 to 2018. Later, in 2018 to 2019, Troy pursued further education at Falmouth University, graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Entrepreneurship. Additionally, in October 2017, they obtained a certification as a Unity Certified Developer from Unity Technologies.
