Gareth Phillips

Gareth Phillips is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Head of Communications at Audit Wales since June 2021. Prior to this role, Gareth held the position of Head of Digital and Communications at Careers Wales from September 2019 to June 2021. Earlier in their career, Gareth worked at Torfaen County Borough Council, where responsibilities included Communications Manager, Digital Transformation Manager, and Principal Communications Officer from October 2009 to June 2021. Additionally, Gareth was a Public Relations Officer at Newport City Council from January 2005 to September 2009 and served as Newport Edition Manager and Journalist for South Wales Argus at Newsquest Media Group Ltd from July 2000 to December 2004. Gareth holds a BA in English from Swansea University, earned between 1995 and 1999.
