Kristina Peterson is an experienced board member and an accomplished business executive with over 25 years of P&L experience. She has served as CEO of cleantech financial advisory firm Mayflower Partners since 2001, and as Independent Board Director of energy management software firm Iteros, Inc. since 2015. She is Co-Chair, Women Corporate Directors Foundation, San Diego, a global group of women corporate board directors since 2016 and has served on the board of Coalition for Green Capital since 2019. She has served on the advisory boards of Chargenet, a California-based EV charging and energy storage company, and Scanifly, a NY-based solar software company, since 2020.
Ms. Peterson has led various solar energy investment companies, serving in senior investment, development, operations and asset management roles at Brookfield Renewable Partners and Terraform Power from 2015 to 2018, and serving in CEO, CFO and other senior management positions at EDF Renewable Energy, Suntech, and Greenwood Energy from 2007 to 2015. In these roles, she has led direct corporate and project equity investments of over $2.2bln and operated or constructed and developed over ~2GW of solar projects globally. Prior to that, she was a project and structured finance investment banker for ABN AMRO Bank and Citibank for 10 years in the energy, infrastructure and telecom industries, arranging over $5 billion of senior project finance debt transactions in the U.S., Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Current and previous board experience includes Iteros (2015-present), Greenwood Energy (2014), Solar Electric Industry Association (2011-2012), Gemini Solar Development Company (2007-2010) and various non-profit boards. Ms. Peterson brings executive leadership experience in energy, technology, investment finance and banking organizations, in different growth stages and with wide-ranging international corporate cultures, business models and leadership styles. In these roles, she has successfully led debt (project, structured, mezzanine, distressed, re-financings) and equity (public and private funds, family offices, angel) investments for public and private companies with total assets under management of over $550 billion. She has led operational turnarounds, investments in distressed companies and start-ups and has a global business perspective, as senior executive for companies based in Canada, China, France, Greece, the Netherlands, and U.S.
Kristina earned her MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and completed graduate coursework in management at MIT Sloan School prior to Booth. She received her BS Finance and Marketing from Boston University School of Management. She was certified as a Board Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) (2014-2015). She resides with her family in San Diego, CA and is active with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 713, Del Mar.
