Ernie Martinez

Ernie Martinez serves as general counsel in leading corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives, managing all aspects of the August Bioservices legal function. He provides senior management with advice on company strategies and their implementation and retains and oversees the work of outside counsel in specialty areas such as intellectual property, regulatory, and litigation.

Ernie works closely with the August Bio executive team to implement approved policies and initiatives related to the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing sectors. He is also responsible for overseeing the human resources functions.

Prior to joining August Bio, Ernie served for 10 years as general counsel at Berg, LLC, and for 14 years as general counsel at Pathfinder Management, Inc. Ernie developed his business legal skills first as counsel in the Timber and Wood Products Division of Boise Cascade Corporation, then over 35 years in business and real property law practice in the public and private sectors. He has served as a white-collar crime prosecutor, house counsel to a number of business concerns, and as California Superior Court Judge Pro Tem.

Ernie received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his JD from Stanford Law School. He is licensed to practice law in California and Tennessee.
