Matt Davidson

Matt Davidson is the current Executive Advisor at August Therapeutics. Prior to this, they were the Founder and CEO of Verrica Pharmaceuticals from August 2013 to December 2020. Matt has also worked as a Scientist at Applied Immunology from July 2013 to December 2013.

Matt Davidson has over 7 years of experience as a CEO, during which they led Verrica Pharmaceuticals from pre-clinical into Phase 3. Matt has also raised over $100M from seed, angel, series A, series B, crossover and public market financings. In addition, they have authored regulatory submissions and oversaw successful FDA meetings (pIND, IND, EofP2, SPA).

Matt Davidson has a PhD in Immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine, and they also did the Ignite Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business for Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Matt has a BA with High Honors in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of California, Berkeley.
