Garrett Green

AVP, Access, Success, & Belonging at Augusta University

Garrett Green is the Interim Chief Diversity Officer at Augusta University. Garrett has been with Augusta University since September 2015, first as the Assistant Director of Student Life and Engagement and then as the Retention and Recruitment Coordinator. Prior to joining Augusta University, Garrett was an Academic Advisor at Georgia Southern University.

Garrett has been instrumental in creating and implementing an employee leadership development program that focuses on Diversity and Inclusion, Financial Literacy, Academic Success, Career Planning and Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Garrett also serves as a Title IX Investigator that assists in resolving complaints of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-related violence including stalking and intimate partner violence, and protected class discrimination and harassment involving undergraduate and graduate students at the University.

In addition to their Title IX responsibilities, Garrett also plans and facilitates multicultural programming to educate and engage students on the importance of DEI. Garrett also trains, develops and supervises 40+ employees that assist in the operation of the Student Center.

Garrett Green received a Doctor of Education from Augusta University, a Master's degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Georgia Southern University.

They are on a team with Brandon T. McCray - VP, Development, Mickey Williford - VP, Institutional Effectiveness, and Wayne Sellers - CIO, AU Health System. Garrett Green reports to Keel A. Brooks, President, Augusta University.
