Jamie Lister has a extensive work experience in the field of technology and software development. They have worked as a Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer at Auraya Systems since June 2017. Prior to that, they were a Senior Research Engineer at the same company from November 2013 to June 2017. During this role, they conducted research and coded algorithms to improve speaker recognition biometrics. They also designed and coded a new Java large vocabulary speech recognizer that can be run in both embedded (Android) and server configurations.
Before joining Auraya Systems, Jamie worked at Salmat as a Senior Software Engineer from November 2005 to November 2013. In this role, they developed speech recognition applications for telephony solutions and designed technical solutions for applications in various industries such as banking, insurance, logistics, and health.
Jamie also had a brief stint as a Contract Programmer at Westpac in 2006.
Earlier in their career, Jamie worked at IBM as a Technology Specialist from June 2003 to December 2005. Here, they designed and implemented multilingual speech applications for banking, government, and logistics companies in Europe. They also provided training and support to clients in using the Websphere platform.
Prior to IBM, Jamie worked as a Contract Developer for the Tasmanian Government from November 2001 to January 2003.
Their early experience includes working as a Software Engineer at Syrinx from January 1999 to September 2001. In this role, they developed algorithms to enhance speech recognition accuracy, mainly programming in C++.
Jamie Lister attended Macquarie University from 1998 to 1999, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Computational Linguistics. Prior to that, Jamie Lister studied at the University of Tasmania from 1991 to 1995 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
In addition to their degrees, Jamie Lister obtained certification as an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2019.
