Mike Turrill

Lead Electrical Engineer

Mike Turrill is an experienced professional with a diverse background in engineering and education. Beginning a career in the Royal Australian Navy as a Junior Officer from January 2007 to January 2013, Mike focused on leadership and teamwork. Transitioning to the mining industry, Mike worked at Rio Tinto from September 2016 to August 2019, serving in roles such as Electrical Engineer, Long Term Planner, and Graduate Electrical Engineer, particularly contributing to the Arc Flash programme. Following this, Mike held positions as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Fortescue Metals Group and a Mathematics Teacher for the Department of Education in Western Australia. Currently, Mike is engaged with Aurecon as a Lead Electrical Engineer while pursuing a Master's degree in Teaching and Leadership at the Australian Catholic University, having previously earned an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
