Kathryn Hempstalk

Kathryn Hempstalk has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Kathryn is currently serving as the Director of Data and AI at Auror, where they are responsible for managing the data warehouse, analytics, and artificial intelligence systems. Prior to Auror, they worked as the VP of Data at LawVu, overseeing data-related responsibilities for the SaaS legal ops platform. Kathryn also held the position of General Manager - Commercialisation at Virscient, where they led the development of technology IP into scalable products. Additionally, Kathryn has experience as the Head of Data and Insights at Trade Me, Senior Data Scientist at Xero, and Senior Data Scientist at Orion Health. Kathryn has also worked as an independent contractor for various companies, and earlier in their career, they served as a scientist in LIC. Overall, they have a strong background in data and analytics, with expertise in areas like data management, AI, ML, and cloud technologies.

Kathryn Hempstalk holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Typist Recognition, which they obtained from The University of Waikato between 2006 and 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences degree in Computer Software Engineering from the same institution, studying from 2002 to 2005. In terms of additional certifications, Kathryn has completed the "Data Engineering, Big Data, and Machine Learning on GCP Specialization" from Coursera in 2020, as well as the "Deep Learning Specialization" from Coursera in 2018.
