Nick McDonnell

Nick McDonnell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in public policy and strategic management. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Trust & Safety for Global Public Policy at Auror since April 2024, McDonnell previously held the position of Head of Public Policy for New Zealand & Pacific Islands at Meta from October 2019 to March 2024. Notable earlier roles include serving as Policy & Programme Manager for the New Zealand Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Council, and Manager of Global Partnerships & Strategy at Auckland Council. In the aviation sector, McDonnell contributed to Air New Zealand in various capacities, including Manager of Regulatory Affairs and an adviser during a CEO transition project. An alumnus of the University of Canterbury with degrees in Laws and Political Science, McDonnell furthered education with Master of Public Administration degrees from NYU and UCL, alongside executive education at the University of Auckland.
