Phil Thomson

Co-founder & CEO at Auror

Phil Thomson is the co-founder and CEO of Auror, a company that helps businesses and police prevent and reduce retail crime. Phil has been in this role since July 2013. Additionally, they are a member of the Partnership Board for the Digital Technologies Industry Transformation Plan at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment since December 2022. In the past, they have held positions as a Young Managers' Advisory Board Member at the New Zealand Institute of Management Inc., a Board Member at the New Zealand Council of Legal Education, an Associate specializing in Intellectual Property at Simpson Grierson, a Business Consultant at Dashing Consultants, and a Director at Kingsford Road Records Limited. Phil has also been involved with the New Zealand Law Students' Association, serving as an advisor to the council and as the President, and the Society of Otago University Law Students, where they were the President.

Phil Thomson attended Wellington College from 2000 to 2004. Phil then went on to study at the University of Otago from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degree, with their studies focused on Psychology and Law.
