Jessica M. Brown has extensive experience in the field of education. Jessica M. began their career in 1997 as a teacher at Jay Cooke MS and later taught at Central East Middle School. In 2006, they transitioned to a role as an Assistant Principal at Kensington CAPA before becoming the Founding Principal of the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush in 2008. In 2014, they were appointed as the Principal of J.R. Masterman School in The School District of Philadelphia. Jessica M. held this position until 2021 when they joined Aurora Public Schools as the Director of Burrell Arts.
Jessica M. Brown obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in History from Kenyon College in the years 1984 to 1988. Jessica M. then pursued higher education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Education from 1997 to 1999. Afterwards, they attended Lehigh University from 2005 to 2006, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Administrative Leadership. Finally, they went back to the University of Pennsylvania to complete their Doctoral degree in Reading, Writing, and Literacy from 2001 to 2005.
