Laura van Horn

Laura Van Horn is an experienced educator currently serving as a 7th grade math teacher at Aurora Public Schools since July 2019. Previously, Laura worked with City Year Dallas from August 2016 to June 2018, where roles included AmeriCorps Service Leader and AmeriCorps Member, contributing over 1,700 hours at Francisco "Pancho" Medrano Middle School as a mentor, tutor, and program facilitator. In addition to education-focused roles, Laura coached the HLax Middle School girls lacrosse team and has experience as a reading mentor and classroom aide. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies from Denison University and graduated from New Trier High School.
