Deepa Kalani

Deepa Kalani is a seasoned software engineer and product management professional with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at Aurora since August 2022, Deepa focuses on Services Engineering and leads the Tech Foundations team. Prior to this, Deepa held significant roles at VMware from December 2016 to August 2022, including Technical Product Management Lead for Tanzu Service Mesh and founding engineer for the same product, which operates on Kubernetes and manages multi-cloud service meshes. Deepa's earlier career includes serving as a Software Architect at PLUMgrid Inc., and as a Technical Leader at Cisco, where contributions were made to the cat6500 product. Deepa began the professional journey as a Software Development Intern at Personity Inc. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
