Taylor Shaw

Staff Software Engineer

Taylor Shaw is a highly skilled software engineer with a strong background in visual effects and technical direction. Currently employed as a Staff Software Engineer at Aurora since October 2018, Taylor previously worked as an Effects Technical Director at Industrial Light & Magic from November 2011 to September 2018, where Taylor specialized in particle, fluid, and rigid body simulations, shader development, and pipeline design. Taylor's earlier experience includes a tenure at Blue Sky Studios as Effects Sequence Lead/Effects TD, contributing to animated films, and at PDI/DreamWorks as an Effects Animator and Technical Director, focusing on pipeline development and shader writing. Taylor began the professional journey as an R&D TD Intern at Industrial Light & Magic, designing productivity-enhancing plugins for Maya. A graduate of Brown University with a BA in Computer Science, Taylor has cultivated a deep expertise in visual effects production and software engineering throughout a successful career in the industry.
