Berthy May is an experienced soigneur with a background in high-performance cycling support. From February 2007 to December 2017, Berthy worked with the Australian Sports Commission and Cycling Australia High-Performance Unit. Subsequently, in December 2018, Berthy contributed to the AusCycling Para-cycling team for a brief period. Between December 2019 and December 2021, Berthy served as a soigneur at Cycling New Zealand. Additionally, since December 2019, Berthy has been self-employed, fulfilling contract roles for various National High-Performance, WorldTour, and ProTour cycling teams, including the Elite USA Cycling Team, Trek Lidl Women’s Team, UAE Women's Team ADQ, and Liv AlUla Jayco.
