Richard Weiss has a diverse work experience in various roles within the Navy and the private sector. Richard began their career in 1995 as an AEGIS SPY-1 Tech on the USS ROSS. Richard then worked as a Systems Test Officer on the USS The Sullivans from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003, they served as a Minefield Planner at COMOMAG. In 2005, Richard joined the USS Kidd (DDG 100) as an STO. Richard later became the Commanding Officer at Mobile Mine Assembly Unit Eleven from 2006 to 2008. Richard then worked as a Strike Force Interoperability Officer at Naval Sea Systems Command from 2008 to 2010. Currently, they are a Program Manager / Senior Systems Analyst V at AUSGAR Technologies INC. In this role, they manage and executes Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity projects with budgets over $2M for US Navy nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3-N) and ballistic missile defense (BMD). Overall, Richard has demonstrated a strong background in managing projects, resolving issues, and leading teams.

Richard Weiss attended Excelsior University from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration/Management & History. Prior to that, in 2004, they briefly enrolled at the University of Phoenix and obtained an Associate of Science degree in Electronics Technology. In their earlier years, from 1986 to 1987, Richard studied Pharmacy at Gulf Coast Community College, and from 1983 to 1984, they pursued a field of study in Liberal Studies at Florida College.
