Melissa Calero is an experienced educator currently serving as an Honors English Teacher at Austin Achieve Public Schools since July 2017, where duties include teaching Honors English 1 and 2, along with previous roles in teaching Spanish III, Ethnic Studies II, and advising the yearbook. Prior to this, Melissa was a Spanish teacher at George Washington Community High School through Teach For America from 2015 to 2017 and gained teaching experience as a student teacher in English and Science at Colegio Diocesano in Spain and in Spanish I, II, and III at Warrick County School Corporation. Early career experience includes managerial duties as a Shift Manager at Noodles & Company and a summer internship as a camp counselor with the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language Teacher Education from Indiana University Bloomington, with additional qualifications in ENL and a Counseling minor, and completed the International Baccalaureate Programme at Signature School.
