James Gaskins

James Gaskins has a strong background in the banking industry, with extensive experience in credit analysis and underwriting. James currently holds the position of Senior Vice President - Commercial Credit Underwriter at Austin Bank, where they provide credit administration support and services to banking teams. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President - Senior Underwriter at Spirit of Texas Bank, managing the development and training of senior credit analysts while providing underwriting support to lending officers. Before that, James worked at Plains State Bank as the Senior Vice President - Credit Administration Manager, responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of credit risk functions. James also has experience in commercial lending and loan portfolio management, having held positions such as Senior Vice President / Vice President - Commercial Lending Officer at First Financial Bank Texas and Vice President - Commercial & SBA Loan Officer at Spirit of Texas Bank. James began their career at First National Bank Texas, where they worked as a Senior Managing Credit Officer and Credit Analyst. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, loan underwriting, loan administration, and risk assessment.

James Gaskins obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus on Finance from Texas A&M University in the years 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued further education and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Banking and Financial Institutions from Sam Houston State University during 2011 to 2013. Additionally, in August 2018, James achieved a Credit Risk Certification (CRC) from The Risk Management Association.
