Michelle Wallis

Michelle Wallis is the Executive Director of Innovation & Development at Austin Independent School District. Michelle has dedicated their career to improving access to education for all students, with a focus on girls and young women.

Wallis began their career as a Clinical Coordinator at Texas Mentor, a position they held for just over a year. Michelle then transitioned to the Ann Richards School Foundation, where they served as Executive Director from 2008 to 2012. In this role, they led fundraising and community outreach efforts to support the school.

In their current role at Austin Independent School District, Wallis is responsible for leading the district's innovation and development initiatives. Michelle is committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education.

Michelle Wallis has a MSSW from The University of Texas at Austin and a BSW from Texas Lutheran University. Michelle has minors in Spanish and Theology.

Their manager is Toni Córdova, Chief of Staff.
