Catherine Cooney MNZM currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Dementia New Zealand since October 2022. With extensive experience in healthcare leadership, Catherine has held roles such as Director at Kowhai Health Associates since May 2012 and Board Trustee for Rotorua Trust since November 2022. Catherine is the President of the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) - Aotearoa since June 2021 and a Board Member of the interRAI New Zealand Governance Board since September 2016. Previous positions include Chief Executive at Lakes District Health Board from January 2001 to June 2012, and Director of Nursing & Midwifery at Lakeland Health from 1994 to 2000.
