Annalise Rees

Annalise Rees serves as the Assistant Director of Antarctic Arts, Education and Engagement at the Australian Antarctic Division since August 2025. Previously, Annalise held the position of Western Tasmania Lead and Senior Stakeholder Engagement Consultant at GHD from March 2022 to August 2025, where engagement and reconciliation initiatives were key responsibilities. Annalise also worked as a Curator at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania from February 2019 to March 2022 and as a Project Officer and PhD Candidate at the University of Tasmania between December 2013 and December 2018, focusing on marine, Antarctic, and maritime research. Annalise's earlier roles include Head of Drawing and Lecturer at Adelaide Central School of Art, Cultural Activities Officer at the City of Sydney, and Collection & Exhibitions Assistant at Flinders University Art Museum. Annalise's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Fine and Studio Arts from the University of Tasmania, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from Charles Darwin University, and a Bachelor of Visual Art (Honours) in Sculpture and Drawing from Adelaide Central School of Art.
