Keith Ashby

Keith Ashby is an experienced professional in workplace health, safety, and environmental management, currently serving as the Assistant Director of Workplace Health & Safety at the Australian Antarctic Division since May 2021. Prior roles include senior positions at Independence Group (IGO) as Head of HSEQ & Risk and Head of Governance & Risk, contributing to executive oversight in health, safety, environment, and community affairs. Keith has also held managerial roles at Newcrest Mining, Tetra Tech, BHP Billiton, and Nyrstar, focusing on establishing HSEC protocols, environmental approvals, and community engagement. With a master's degree in Environmental Science from The University of Auckland and a GAICD qualification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Keith possesses a strong foundation in both technical and governance aspects of environmental management.
