Justin Smirk is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in economic analysis and consultancy. Currently serving as a Senior Economist at Westpac since April 1999, Justin specializes in the Asian/Pacific economies and commodities, with a focus on energy, carbon, and environmental issues. Since January 2018, Justin has also been a Senior Economist with the Australian Business Economists. Prior roles include Chief Economist at St George Bank, where Justin acted as the spokesperson on the global economy and provided strategic advice to senior management, and as an Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia, engaged in various economic analyses. Earlier experience as an Agricultural Consultant at AACM International involved delivering consultancy services to numerous clients in the agricultural sector. Justin holds an Honours degree in Economics from Murdoch University and a Bachelor of Business in Agriculture from Curtin University.
