Rainer Korte

Rainer Korte is a seasoned energy sector professional currently serving as a Commissioner at the Australian Energy Market Commission since September 2024 and as a Director at CIGRE Australia since November 2023. Rainer has an extensive background with ElectraNet Pty Ltd, where tenure spanned from 2008 to July 2024 in various senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive. Additionally, Rainer held the position of Chair of the Grid Australia Regulatory Policy Group from 2003 to December 2015, leading advocacy efforts for regulatory policies among electricity transmission businesses in the Australian National Electricity Market. Rainer earned a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Adelaide and completed the Senior Executive Program at London Business School in October 2011.
