Reefworks Project Director at Australian Institute of Marine Science

Melanie Olsen is the ReefWorks Project Director at the Australian Institute of Marine Science, where she leads Australia's Tropical Marine Technology Test Range in Townsville. Prior to this role, she served as the Team Leader for Technology Development, focusing on technology foresighting and engineering management. With a strong background in engineering, Melanie previously worked as a Senior Project Engineer at the Department of Defence, overseeing research & development projects and leading engineering teams. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from James Cook University, as well as a Master's degree in Systems Engineering - Electronic Warfare from UNSW.
