Curator For Climate Change, Climate Solutions Centre, Australian Museum at Australian Museum

Jenny Newell is an accomplished curator with extensive experience in climate change and Pacific ethnology. Currently serving at the Australian Museum since November 2016, Jenny's roles have included Curator for Climate Change at the Climate Solutions Centre and Manager of Climate Change Projects and the Pacific and International Collection. Prior to this, from March 2012 to November 2016, Jenny was a curator of Pacific Ethnology at the American Museum of Natural History, focusing on cultural implications of climate change in the Pacific Islands and Pacific environmental history. Jenny's career also includes a position as a Research Fellow at the National Museum of Australia from July 2008 to February 2012, and as an Assistant Curator for Polynesia at The British Museum from July 2001 to June 2008. Jenny holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's Degree in History, Chinese History, Anthropology, and Art History from the same institution.
