Carl Christiansen

Carl Christiansen has extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. From 2017 to the present, they have held the position of Associate Director - Business Development and Transactions at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). Prior to this role, they were a Manager - Business Development and Transactions at ARENA from 2017 to 2023.

Before joining ARENA, Carl worked at AECOM as a Senior Engineer - Energy from 2012 to 2017. In this role, they were involved in the development, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale wind, solar, and hybrid power plants. Carl also worked on energy advisory projects, focusing on distributed energy resources and off-grid renewables.

From 2009 to 2012, Carl was an Energy Market Analyst at ActewAGL, where they developed advanced Excel skills and managed various renewable energy obligations and compliance reporting.

Earlier in their career, Carl had short-term roles as an Undergraduate Engineer at Delta Electricity in 2008 and at the Murray Darling Basin Authority in 2006.

Overall, Carl has a diverse background in renewable energy project development, energy advisory, market analysis, and compliance reporting.

Carl Christiansen completed their Master's Degree in Energy Planning and Policy at the University of Technology Sydney from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science from The Australian National University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009.
