Nicola Hesse

Nicola Hesse is a Women in Engineering Student Leader at The University of Queensland since January 2024. Prior to this, Nicola was a Mechanical Engineering Intern at EDL and a Tutor for the Australian Girls Choir at the Australian School of Performing Arts. Nicola served as the Welfare Officer at UQ EUS and worked as a Shop Assistant at Somerville House Uniform Shop. Nicola also gained experience as a Vacation Student at Rio Tinto, where they worked on dust mitigation works in an Alumina Refinery. As a Summer Research Intern at The University of Queensland, Nicola assisted with experiments in the Fire Engineering group. Nicola is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical and Aerospace at The University of Queensland.
