Sean O'Dowd has extensive experience in information and communication technology leadership roles. Sean was the Director of Information and Communication Technology at the Australian Sports Commission, responsible for managing the ASC's ICT environment and leading digital transformation initiatives. Prior to that, they served as the Group Manager of Information and Communication Technology at the Port Macquarie Hastings Council, where they played a key role in achieving strategic outcomes for the council. Sean also held the position of Deputy Director of IT at the University of Canberra, where they worked collaboratively with various departments to deliver effective IT solutions aligned with business objectives. Sean was additionally the Applications Development Manager at Geoscience Australia, managing a software development team and overseeing project planning and execution. Earlier in their career, Sean was the Manager of Information Technology at the Australian Medical Council, where they focused on IT service and internal consultancy to support the council's growth.
Sean O'Dowd obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Newcastle between 1989 and 1994. Additionally, they also obtained a Bachelor of Information Science in Management Information Systems and Services during the same period. Sean does not have any additional certifications.
