Australian Strategic Materials (ASM)
Australian Strategic Materials (ASM) is building a global rare earths and critical minerals business to provide the high-tech metals needed to solve the challenges of today and the future. ASM has its cornerstone rare earths and critical minerals project in Dubbo, Australia, and its flagship high-tech metals plant in Ochang, South Korea. ASM intends to develop the Dubbo Project to produce a range of metal oxides and mixed chlorides. Working in partnership with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), ASM has completed significant successful test work to develop an advanced flowsheet and optimise oxide recoveries. When the Dubbo Project is constructed, the products will be metallised at ASM’s Metals Plants, the first of which is in Ochang, Korea. The Korean Metals Plant opened in 2022, and delivered its first sale of neodymium praseodymium metal in September. The plant’s initial focus is on neodymium products and titanium alloy.
