John Abrahamson

John Abrahamson is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of expertise in international taxation, currently serving as Director of International Tax Advice and Capability at the Australian Taxation Office since December 2015. Notably, John has held the role of Tax Partner at Sheltons Group since March 2012, following his tenure as General Manager of International Taxation for Maersk Oil and Director International Tax at Sheltons Group in Denmark. Prior positions include significant roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Baker & McKenzie, KPMG, and Arthur Andersen, where John advised on complex tax matters including structured finance and cross-border transactions. John holds a PhD in Law from The Australian National University, an LLM from Monash University, along with LLB and BEc degrees from the University of Adelaide.
