Karen Rooke

Karen Rooke is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in taxation law and academia. Currently serving at the Australian Taxation Office since January 2017, Karen holds the position of Assistant Commissioner TCN and has also acted in roles such as Deputy Chief Tax Counsel and Assistant Commissioner TCN. Prior to this, Karen contributed to the field of law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney from 2009 to 2017 and as a Senior Lecturer from 2005 to 2007. Karen's legal practice experience includes roles as a partner and solicitor at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, along with serving as a legal consultant at King & Wood Mallesons until November 2016. Karen Rooke holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from The Australian National University.
